The spanish collective Little Spain was part of the Seminar
Before the screening of their film Esta ambición desmedida, Cris Trenas, Santos Bacana and Rogelio González, members of Little Spain, were part of the Film Seminar and gave a class to a full house in the Aula Magna of FADU. "When we received the invitation from FIC.UBA, we were especially excited to be at a University because we always like to be in contact with people who are studying and wanting to do things", Trenas confessed in advance of the first screening of the documentary in the country.
The visit of the Spanish trio to FIC.UBA is not just another one: their work, with its own aesthetics and style, not only sets a trend in its country but also crossed borders and became one of the main references for production companies around the world. the world. His new documentary that portrays C. Tangana's tour with his acclaimed album El Madrileño, is one of the centerpieces of the second edition of the Festival.
Regarding his disruptive way of producing, which mixes the collective with the intuitive, Santos Bacana stated that the formation of the collective occurred "organically over time. We get to know each other, connecting the dots and saying 'this person works'". Furthermore, Trenas described the true essence of the group's work: "The Little Spain office became a meeting center for people who wanted to be a little rebellious".
The presence of the collective at FIC.UBA reconfirms the Festival's objective of focusing on the dialogue between history, present and future of cinema. Both Little Spain and the rest of the seminar participants were chosen for their importance in today's industry and for their ability to take elements of the classic for their contemporary expression.
