The Festival presents: UBA Short Film Competition

In each of its editions, the UBA Short Film Competition became a key of the Festival. Its importance is intrinsically linked to the main objective of the Festival: to encourage emerging generations of directors, who with their creativity transform the way we understand not only cinema but the world.

Thanks to the alliance with the Málaga Film Festival (MAFIZ) and the Bogotá International Film Festival (BIFF), this year the FIC.UBA will reward the winners of the UBA Short Film Competition with special participations for new talents in Spain and Colombia.

In addition to a prize of $1,500,000 from the UBA, the Best Short Film of that Competition will win a spot to participate in the MÁLAGA TALENT Campus Training Program in the MAFIZ industry market. On the other hand, in alliance with the BIFF, the Festival will award the Best Director Award, which consists of a trip to Colombia to participate in the young talent program BIFF BANG! in the 2025 edition.

For its part, Asociación del Personal de la UBA (APUBA) will award the winning short a prize of $1,500,000 to finance the direction of an audiovisual project to be developed in the first half of 2025.

The UBA Short Film Competition is made up of films made by students of the University of Buenos Aires as Argentine premieres. The jury is made up of Rocío García Kristeff, Anabella Speziale, Iván Stoessel, Julieta Vitullo and Silvia Badariotti.
