Luis Brandoni to receive the FIC.UBA Lifetime Achievement Award
Actor Luis Brandoni will be honoured at the second edition of FIC.UBA for his illustrious career and his contribution to Argentine cinema. The tribute will be part of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of La Patagonia Rebelde (1974).

For more than five decades, his face has epitomised national cinema. Luis Brandoni achieved the impossible: working with Argentina's greatest directors while still making each film his own. A virtuoso across all genres—from the Galician anarchist in La Patagonia Rebelde to the jaded artist in Mi Obra Maestra—he continues to create new characters after starring in over sixty films. These films, frequently hailed as 'Brandoni's films,' are loved by audiences. FIC.UBA will recognize a career that blends artistic exploration with popular success, and a life dedicated to Argentine culture and cinema.
Luis Brandoni was born on April 18, 1940, in Córdoba. He began his career in theatre but soon took an interest in film and television. His big-screen debut came in 1966 with Leo Fleider’s Escala musical. Among his most notable films are Sergio Renán's La tregua (1974), Eva Landeck's Gente en Buenos Aires (1974), Alejandro Doria's Esperando la carroza (1985), and Gastón Duprat's Mi obra maestra (2018). He has also appeared in numerous television and streaming series.
