Luis Ortega joins the FIC.UBA seminar
Argentine director, screenwriter, and producer Luis Ortega will be part of the seminar at the 2nd edition of the Festival, where he will discuss his career, influences, and the current state of cinema.
Known for his transgressive and evolving filmography, which has garnered both public and critical acclaim, Ortega will deliver a special lecture as part of the seminar.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 17th, at 4:00 p.m. in Aula 301 (Third floor, Pabellón 3, Ciudad Universitaria, FADU). Registration is available by clicking on this link.
Luis Ortega, born on July 12, 1980, in Buenos Aires, made his directorial debut with Caja negra (2002), showcasing his curiosity in working with non-professional actors and blending fiction with documentary elements. His other notable works include Monobloc (2005), Los santos sucios (2009), Lulú (2016), El ángel (2018), and El jockey (2024), the latter two earning nominations for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. Ortega also directed the acclaimed TV series Historia de un clan (2015).
