El mural
Héctor Olivera / Honorary Degree
In 1933, the painter David Alfaro Siqueiros arrives in Buenos Aires to hold an exhibition and give lectures, which are suspended due to their Marxist-Leninist content, in a city and at a time when nationalism reigns supreme. Natalio Botana, editor of the newspaper Crítica, hires him to paint a mural in the large basement of his residence. Meanwhile, a romance begins in the mansion between the owner of the house and Siqueiros's beautiful wife, who is also courted by Pablo Neruda, then Chilean vice-consul.
