Fotogenico
International Feature Film Competition
A film about death, but stripped of all the sentimentality and solemnity that this traumatic circumstance usually entails. After making a trilogy of films about Marseille more than ten years ago, Marcia Romano and Benoît Sabatier return to portray the French city's rock scene. With a simple and playful premise as a trigger, the filmmaking duo build their new feature film around Raoul, a man trying to learn more about the life of his recently deceased daughter. As he visits each of the places she frequented, the naïve father learns that the young woman spent her time partying and playing with her wild band Fotogenico.
Benoît Sabatier , Marcia Romano
Marcia Romano worked as a cashier at the Cinéma Mac-Mahon, took scriptwriting courses, and then collaborated on the writing of numerous films. Meanwhile, Benoît Sabatier met hairy musicians, beardless pop stars, and living legends, as he was a rock critic and published books on the subject. Romano and Sabatier then decided to join forces to make films that were more or less musical.
